Emily was born in Hubbard, Iowa August 12th, 1975. She and
her family moved to Minneapolis when she was one and to Bloomington, MN when
she was two. She graduated from Bloomington Kennedy High School in 1993.
She went to the University of Southern California in Los Angles on a swimming
scholarship and graduated in 1998 earning a Journalism BA.
After graduation, Emily worked on two political campaigns in California
and in a publishing house in New York City. In 1999, she began studying law
at Brooklyn Law School. She recieved her J.D. in 2002 and was admitted to
the New York State Bar in early 2003. Currently, Emily is pursuing work in
public service and acts a coach and personal trainer for clients in both
New York and Pennsylvania.
